Agree on all points but the utility of the iPhone/Blackberry reader apps IN TANDEM with the Kindle can't be overstated.

There are environments (like a dark airplane) where the Kindle itself is not the optimal reading experience. I no longer carry the Kindle when traveling.

On my last trip, I actually bought a book from the Kindle iPhone app and read parts of it during the flight home, as I was listening to music also on the iPhone.

One device to carry, and once I got home i could continue reading on the more comfy (in better lighting) Kindle.

Also, reading on the DX is a little more comfortable because you're not turning pages every paragraph, but that's picking a nit.

Hi Rick...

Good review... just a couple of points.

First, Amazon is supposed to be working on an "organization" enhancement that is due out soon. They announced it last year.

Second, it is possible to strip the DRM from most of your Kindle books and archive them yourself incase you want to use them on another device or for that time when Amazon goes away (yea right).

BOb
