VirtualPC - Setting up a VM
I am looking for a blog entry, or more likely a white paper or book on Microsoft's VirtualPC, and the setup of a Virtual Machine for a client (read - I am not interested in writing something already written on the subject).
I am not looking for a How To Install VirtualPC on Your Computer - although this could be part of the white paper. I want to point to a resource stepping the user through the process of building their first Virtual Machine, installing the OS, and helping them with the choices and some optimizations.
Any pointers?

Hi Rick!
Ever since Ken Levy mentioned MS-VirtualPC during last year's Southwest Visual FoxPro Conference, I was sold on this must-have tool for developers.
VPC couldn't be easier to use. The key to success with VirtualPC is to have an adequate amount of available RAM on both the Host machine and the Virtual machine. By all means, exceed the minimum requirements as set by default under VPC. For instance, a slow-but-usable memory allocation for XP under VPC is 166 MBs. As expected, the default 128 is one of those statements seemingly made "in theory".
Another useful hint (if the user licensing budget permits!) is to install a fresh OS in your new Virtual PC and copy it without installing absolutely anything. Everytime you want to test a system under development or a custom installer, simply copy the .vhd file to a new folder and instruct VirtualPC to recognize it as a new machine. That way, you can easily test without having to spend a couple of hours installing a new OS unto a new Virtual PC. Once done with the test, erase the .vhd so you have that OS license available again. Also, keep in mind OEM licenses cannot be used for VPC.
Ideally, as a developer, it would be great to have a "fresh" copy of all the typical OSs in the arsenal. Just last night, I purchased a new full install (not-academic, not OEM) of W98 SE for $35 bucks at eBay. Can't wait for that one to show up at the mailbox!

You definitely don't have to sell me on the concept Kenneth, I am just trying to help another developer out with some easy to get started instructions. Know of any?
Try the link below; It is an article published on DEVX which I got in my email.
