Congratulations Rick and Frank. It's always great to see nice people succeed!
Does this mean we might see the White Light Computing Menu Designer before VFP comes off support {gd&r}?
Doug
Maybe {gd&r back at ya}.
I have a couple of developer tools in the wings that I would like to get out the door and the MenuDesigner is right at the top of the list. Others include an upgrade of both HackCX and ViewEditor, a VCX compare utility, and some new ideas I have for some other tools.
Twice as Nice!
Rick, you are in luck. Frank will certainly be an asset to WLC. I can say it really has been pleasurable working with him for the past 13 years. Although it is kind of strange to think that soon we might want to sit next to each other at dinners and conferences...
Congrats to both of you,
Mary
Thanks Mary. I definitely feel very lucky at the moment. Frank was selected from an elite group of candidates, of which I could have easily hired any one of them.
Everyone who has contacted me about Frank has had nice things to say about him. It *almost* reminds me of all the people coming up to me at SWFox telling me how good Cathy Pountney's sessions where when she was standing next to me. You think Frank is taking some lessons from Cathy at the conference?
When I told one of the candidates I was selecting Frank instead of them, they said, "Well, if I have to lose out to someone else, I am glad it is Frank."
Now I have to get past his demand for a 60" LCD screen he wants for his monitor. {g}
Congrats!! I'm sure this will be a great union of the minds for many years to come. I was just chatting with Frank a few weeks ago about the cool add-on he wrote for Beyond Compare. Although .. the conversation went something like .. Gee Frank, I love your tool. And he responded .. that will become exhibit #159 in the divorce case of Perez v Perez.
Regarding the SW Fox "praise" .. I SWEAR I didn't pay those people to come up to you and say nice things (I did have one heck of a bar tab at the end of the conference though! ;-) )
I better make sure the employee handbook states that the owner is not responsible for situations where "outsiders" sexually harass my employees, especially if it happens *before* they actually start. {g}
Frank's Beyond Compare add-on is really nice.
He'll just have to settle for two 24" monitors instead (I'm sure he'll be crushed.)
Congrats to you both.
