MVP Summit - Good News About VFP
Alan Griver spilled the beans today that Microsoft has some fixes for VFP 9 SP2. Alan announced the missing index items in the VFP 9 SP2 Help file are fixed and being reviewed, and will be available online sometime soon. The "Fox Team" has already fixed one report bug when the preview toolbar becomes unusable in the "new style" report preview. The fix is done and is going through the packaging process before being released to the Fox Community.
This is absolutely great news and a step in the right direction to help with the adoption rate of VFP 9 SP2.
There is more good news as the "Fox Team" is open to possibly fixing more SP2 regression bugs. No promises were made, but it is encouraging news that the serious bugs are being considered. It was a positive meeting and a good day.

Lovely, Rick! Have they fixed the bug with the wrong data showing up in the group header yet?
That is good news, I've been postponing installing SP2 mainly because of statments regarding a mumber if issues with the SP.

You really need to install SP2 now more than ever. If the Fox Community does not install SP2, there is a lower chance the bugs will be revealed and no chance for them to fix them. See my blog post on how to install all versions of VFP 9 on one machine if you need help in doing this important task.
As to Sedna, as Andrew states, it has been released for months already. You can download it from the Microsoft VFP site.
I just don't understand why MS won't fix the bugs. MS will support VFP all through 2014, 2015, no?

No one said they would NOT fix any bugs. Microsoft said it plans to support VFP to the committed dates (2015), announced they have fixed the Help SP2 file, and have one bug fix ready for the report designer.
How does this interpret into NOT fixing bugs? The team was receptive to the discussion. I think in itself this is good news.
