Just wanted to be clear on HackCX Professional (the Geeks and Gurus commercial version of RAS Hack SCX/VCX). The free version (with fewer features) will remain available even with commercial one being released. It will not get new functionality, but bugs will get fixed if they are discovered.

SpamCop is a nuisance. Ameritech is using a product that is self proclaimed not ready for production. It is a service being developed to eliminate potential spam. The email server being used to serve RickSchummer.com email is also used by a blacklisted spammer. No way to resolve this at the moment so we have redirected email to work id.

New version of HackForm SCX/VCX is in the beta cycle (no we do not need more beta testers at this time). HackCX v4 will be a commercial product, with more than 20 new enhancements and several bug fixes. Should be available in October.

Y2K (the 2/29/00 phase) was another non-event on February 29th. Looks like a couple of weather systems and some systems in Asia that could not handle this unusual event.  For those not familiar, the leap year happens every four years except for years that end in "00", except for those "00" years that are divisible by 400.  Therefore we got to work an extra day this year. Not exactly how I wanted to spend a one in 400 year event. <g>

Rick Schummer has started a new series in FoxTalk that centers the focus on Deployment. The first in this series was printed as an Extended Article in the November 1999 issue.

 

This site is designed to be viewed in 800x600 video resolution or higher, but it should work fairly well at any resolution and with any of the major browsers (all free!). Optimized for MS Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Opera (mostly works with Mozilla and Netscape Navigator).
